BEAVERTON, Ore. (05 September, 2006) — Nike (NYSE:NKE) today announced that David Clark will join the company as Vice President of Human Resources for the Nike brand’s U.S. Region, reporting to Vice President and General Manager of Nike USA, Craig Cheek.

In his new role, Clark will lead human resources strategy for the United States, which is the largest of the Nike brand’s four geographic regions, generating revenues of $5.7 billion in fiscal 2006. Clark will lead all human resources functions in the region, including staffing, benefits, compensation, policy, learning and development and diversity. He also will work closely with the company’s global human resources organization to implement policies and further the company’s reputation as an employer of choice. Nike was recognized by Fortune magazine in 2005 as one of America’s top 100 companies to work for.

“We’re pleased to have Dave join Nike, bringing both his wealth of experience in human resources and his passion for the brand,” Cheek said. “Dave will be a valuable addition to our management team as we continue to grow our business in the US.”

Clark brings to the role more than 20 years of experience in consumer brands. Since 1985 he has held various posts at Proctor & Gamble, in both brand management marketing and human resources. While there, he developed global human resource strategic plans for four regional headquarters spanning Latin America, Europe, Japan/China, North America, Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Clark most recently served as human resources director for the company’s Global Baby and Adult Care Division where he identified, developed and implemented major cultural change initiatives that resulted in increased employee productivity and marketplace success. He also held HR management posts in research and development, the Paper Division and the North American Baby Care Division.

Before joining P&G, Clark served as a Captain in the US Army after receiving his degree in business management and engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
