Nike has provided products to equip teams and build a sense of community in Southern Sudan as part of the Sports for Peace and Life program. Nike partnered with Mercy Corps and USAID. The groups collectively recognized the immediate need to support youth emerging from trauma in Sudan by bringing them together, creating a supportive atmosphere, and allowing dialogue and voice among the children. Sports for Peace and Life also provides a chance to educate Sudan youth about how to avoid conflict and violence, and protect against the threat of HIV/AIDS.
