Kindergarten Summer School: $50,000

The Nike grant will create a Kindergarten Summer School that will prepare hundreds of at-risk kindergarten students for academic success in their first year of school. Each student will receive intensive intervention in critical reading, writing and math skills. With the Nike grant, five additional Kindergarten Summer School sites will be opened and hundreds of children will have the opportunity to enter Kindergarten with a greater ability to succeed in school.
